About the program:
Young people from Asia, Europe and South America make the difficult decision to spend a semester or a whole school year away from their families and friends....away from everything that is comfortable. Host families do not receive monetary assistance for their service to the community. Instead they receive the immeasurable joy of a new family member who shares their lives and his or her culture with them. The hosts become aware of the "it's a small world" concept as they realize that the young person who is sharing their home is more alike than different. Lead Hill opens its heart to these exchange students, knowing it receives much more in return. |
Would you like to host?
The exchange students who are on the campus this year have been placed by two different organizations. Their criteria may be slightly different, but generally the host family agrees to feed three meals a day and give the young person a safe place to sleep. In addition, the students do have activities associated with their programs and host families need to provide transportation for those events and other social gatherings. If you are interested in serving as a host family you may contact AYUSA at http://www.ayusa.org or CASE at http://www.case-usa.org |
